Pet Food Formulation

Wisetroop formulates recipes exclusively for fresh pet food — gently cooked and raw. We do not formulate kibble or canned pet food products.

Formulations are available for dogs and cats across all life stages, including puppy and kitten, adult, and senior. Therapeutic formulations for specific health conditions are also available.

Wisetroop formulates recipes in compliance with AAFCO or FEDIAF nutritional standards, depending on the client's target market and regulatory requirements. The applicable standard is confirmed during the initial discovery meeting and applied throughout the formulation process.

The first step is an initial discovery meeting, where we discuss your project requirements in detail — including your target market, diet type, regulatory baseline, life stage and therapeutic targets, raw ingredient considerations, number of recipes, and project timeline.

Following the meeting, a formal quotation is prepared and submitted. A 50% deposit is required to confirm the project and commence formulation work.

Each recipe carries a delivery timeline of three working days from the commencement of formulation. Project timelines are also influenced by the review periods allocated to the client — two weeks for the first draft review and three weeks for the final recipe review.

Overall project duration will depend on the number of recipes commissioned and the complexity of the formulation requirements, and will be outlined in the project quotation.

Each recipe formulation includes the complete recipe, up to three ingredient substitutions, and a recipe report that includes the caloric count, feeding guide, a detailed macro and micronutrient profile, and Guaranteed Analysis, upon final delivery.

Formulation fees are as follows:

Standard recipe (no diagnosed health condition): SGD 300 per recipe

Therapeutic recipe (diagnosed health condition): SGD 350 – SGD 500 per recipe, depending on the complexity of the condition.

The Recipe Report is the final deliverable presented upon project completion. It includes the

• Complete recipe

• Guaranteed Analysis

• Detailed macro and micronutrient profile

• Calorie count

• Feeding and storage guide

• Diet contraindications

The Recipe Report is released upon receipt of the final 50% balance payment.

A 50% deposit of the total project fee is required to confirm the project and commence formulation work. The remaining 50% balance is due upon final delivery of the completed Recipe Report.

Yes. Wisetroop is able to formulate recipes that take into account multiple concurrent health conditions — for example, a pet managing both chronic kidney disease and pancreatitis. Each condition's nutritional priorities are carefully considered to ensure the formulation supports the management of all relevant conditions without compromise.

The complexity of multi-condition formulations will be reflected in the therapeutic recipe pricing, which ranges from SGD 350 to SGD 500 per recipe.

Commercial consultancy will be billed at SGD 150 per hour. Consultancy cover areas such as:

• Ingredient strategy

• ingredient research and database creation

• Health claims substantiation

Wisetroop works directly with pet food companies and industry professionals on recipe formulation. If you are working with a third-party manufacturer for production, the first draft review period is an appropriate time to reconfirm ingredient pricing and availability with your manufacturer before proceeding to final formulation.

Wisetroop's scope of work covers recipe formulation and nutritional strategy only. Production, procurement, and manufacturing are outside the scope of our services.
